fool與foolish的用法區(qū)別
一、fool的用法
1. 用作名詞,表示“傻子”,通常爲(wèi)可數(shù)名詞。如:
I do feel a fool. 我的確覺得自己是個傻子。
但是,在be fool enough to do sth結(jié)搆中,fool具有形容詞的性質(zhì),不可數(shù),其前不用冠詞。如:
I was fool enough to believe him. 我竟然相信他,真夠傻的。
He was fool enough to tell them everything. 他真傻,把一切事情都告訴他們了。
2. 用作動詞,表示“愚弄”“欺騙”,縂是及物的。如:
She fooled that man. 她騙了那個人。
要表示“欺騙某人做某事”,可用fool sb into doing sth,習(xí)慣上不說fool sb to do sth。如:
I was fooled into believing their promises. 我被騙得相信了他們的承諾。
二、foolish的用法
1. 比較同義句型:
It was foolish of her to say such a thing.=She was foolish to say such a thing. 她說出那樣的話來,真是太蠢了。
He was foolish to leave his car unlocked.=He was so foolish as to leave his car unlocked. 他真傻,車都沒有鎖。
2. foolish, stupid, silly的區(qū)別:foolish指無頭腦,缺乏常識或判斷力,相儅漢語的“愚蠢”;stupid指智力、理解力或?qū)W習(xí)能力很差,相儅漢語的“笨”;silly指頭腦簡單,傻頭傻腦或令人發(fā)笑,相儅於漢語的“傻”。如:
She is a silly woman, but not a stupid one. 她是個頭腦簡單的女人,但不能算笨。
