用法辨析
- though引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時表示一種假設(shè)的情況或含有推測的意味,從句的謂語動詞可用陳述式,也可用虛擬式; 有時爲了強調(diào)讓步的意義,可採用倒裝語序。
- 在用though連接的從句中,謂語是be,而從句的主語與主句的主語相同時,從句的主語與be可同時省略。
- 區(qū)別although和though:though可以做副詞，指“但是”，但是although不行。as though屬固定搭配，這裡though不能替換成although。although要比though來得更正式，相對而言，語氣比較重，但是though的使用更普遍。although引導(dǎo)的從句，常指實際發(fā)生的事情，而不是假象，設(shè)想。though和although都可在從句中用作連詞，通常表示相同的意思，但though更普遍適應(yīng)於非正式的表述中；He said he would come, he didn't, though. 句中的though不能替換成although。He would not be unhappy though he should have to live alone. 就算要一個人住，他可能也不會不開心。He was not unhappy although he had to live alone. 雖然他不得不要一個人住，卻沒有不開心。
- though已表示“然而，可是”，在句中，不可再與but連用。Though he lives alone, but he is happy. 句子中的but要刪掉。
- though引導(dǎo)的句子有時有特殊的格式。值得注意的是，句子 Though loving him, I cannot help him是不成立的，因爲沒有though I was loving這一說法。Though he lives alone, he is happy. 句子中的“he lives”可以省略掉。
