在指“不久就要……”時(shí)，後通常接不定式，如about to start。也有接動(dòng)名詞，如about starting。但是不可再加表示時(shí)間的詞，如不可說(shuō)about starting at once；
指“大約”的意思時(shí)，表達(dá)方式有about ten，about half等。注意ten和half都是明確的數(shù)量，about不該用在“多少不定”的詞前，如about more than ten，about less than half；
與at搭配使用時(shí)，about是副詞，沒(méi)有at時(shí)，about 是介詞。句中可有at，也可沒(méi)有，意思相同。I went (at) about five (o'clock).
about + 不定式，表示“即將要去做某事”。Don't go out now - we're about to have lunch.
about與動(dòng)詞go組成短語(yǔ)時(shí)，爲(wèi)副詞，意爲(wèi)“著手做，從事”。

You use about to introduce who or what something relates to or concerns.
When you mention the things that an activity or institution is about, you are saying what it involves or what its aims are.

When you say that there is a particular quality about someone or something, you mean that they have this quality.
