常用用法

introduce的基本含義是“引導(dǎo)到里面”,常用于第一次正式使某人認(rèn)識或了解某人或某事物,可以自我介紹,也可以介紹別人。introduce還有“引進(jìn)”“實(shí)施”“采用”“插入”“作為…的開頭”等意思。
introduce是及物動詞,接名詞或代詞作賓語,把自己介紹給別人時(shí)接反身代詞?？捎糜诒粍咏Y(jié)構(gòu)。introduce的賓語后面接介詞to時(shí)表示“向某人介紹”“把…介紹給某人”; 接介詞into時(shí),表示“傳入”“引進(jìn)”“采用”。
introduce不能接雙賓語，在介紹信中應(yīng)把收信人寫做to的賓語。Allow me to introduce you my friend Mr Porter. 該句說法是錯(cuò)誤的，應(yīng)在introduce后加to。Allow me to introduce to you my friend Mr Porter.
introduce不可以拿來“介紹(書報(bào))”，應(yīng)用recommend代替。Can you recommend to me a dictionary? 您能給我介紹本字典嗎？
introduce與書本等連用時(shí)，表示“使……注意或認(rèn)識”，不同“介紹”。He introduced me to the dictionary. 他使我注意到這本字典。

這兩個(gè)詞的共同意思是“介紹”。其區(qū)別在于:
1.introduce的含義是介紹某人或某物本身,使其被認(rèn)識; recommend的含義是介紹某人或某物的優(yōu)點(diǎn)、長處,使其被采用。例如:
He introduced the young man to the manager.他把那個(gè)年輕人介紹給了經(jīng)理。
He recommended strongly the young man to the manager.他極力向經(jīng)理推薦那個(gè)年輕人。
2.recommend可用于“recommend sb sth ”句型,而introduce不能這樣用。例如:
The publishing house introduced a series of books to the public.那家出版社向公眾推出一套叢書。
The librarian recommended me a new novel.圖書館員向我推薦了一本新小說。

這組詞都有把“某(人)物插入其他(人)物之間”的意思。它們的區(qū)別是:introduce指插進(jìn)原來沒有的東西使其同原有部分成為一個(gè)整體; insert指把某物插入其他物體之間的固定的位置上; interpolate指插入與主題無關(guān)的或經(jīng)過篡改、偽造的東西; interpose指插入起阻礙作用的人或物; interject指突然或有力地插入。例如:
He introduces the pipe into the hole.他把管子插入孔中。
He inserted the wooden peg into the hole.他把木釘插入孔眼。
“I don't agree at all!”he interjected.“我根本就不同意!”他突然叫道。
He interpolated a phrase about the growth of profits into the report.他在報(bào)告中加了一句關(guān)于利潤增長的話。
He interposed himself between them to stop them fighting.他擠進(jìn)兩人中間,阻止他們打架。
