hang的基本意思是“懸”“掛”,一般指把某物懸掛在高處或線上,由此下垂并能夠擺動,引申可表示某物依賴于他物的狀態(tài); 某物纏在或貼在他物之上的狀態(tài)以及一切能使人由懸掛的情景聯(lián)想到的事物或狀態(tài)。hang還可作“吊死,絞死”解。
hang在口語中常用于事物,意思是“見鬼”,指人作詛咒語,表示憤怒,不贊成等。
hang可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,接名詞或代詞作賓語; 用作不及物動詞時,主動形式含有被動意義。
在正式英語中, hang作“絞死”解時,其過去式和過去分詞為hanged, hanged; 作其他意義解時,其過去式和過去分詞為hung, hung。非正式用法無此區(qū)別,所有意義皆用hung, hung。
