- class用作名詞意思是“階級,社會等級”,指具有政治、社會或經濟地位的群體,是集合名詞,可與單數(shù)或復數(shù)的動詞連用,多用復數(shù)形式,作“社會等級制度”解時不可數(shù)。
- class也可作“班級”解,是可數(shù)的集合名詞。可作單數(shù)使用,也可作復數(shù)使用,在美式英語中作單數(shù)用得更多些。作單數(shù)使用時,表示一個中性的無生命的整體,要用it或which來指代,謂語動詞要用單數(shù)形式; 如用作復數(shù),則表示組成這個集體的一個個有生命的成員,要用they或who來指代,謂語動詞要用復數(shù)形式。使用時關鍵在于一致,至少在同一個句子內要一致。
