常用用法
- around的基本意思是“在周圍,在附近”“到處,四周”,指地理位置。
- around作“大約”解時，主要用于數(shù)字前，有時也用于表示時間的短語前。
- around作“恢復過來”解時主要用于健康狀況或意識方面。
- around常用在動詞后面作狀語，還可用作表語或置于名詞后作定語。作“恢復過來”解時還常用作賓語補足語。
- around作“流通著的；可利用的”“見過世面的；閱歷廣的；經(jīng)驗豐富的”解時多用于口語，一般用于完成時中。
- around用作副詞時不用于比較等級。
- around和round相似，均作副詞和介詞用。美國人習慣用around，如下列各例句：He turned around.Like the moon, the artificial satellites move around the earth. 英國人習慣用round，如上面的前三個例句，他們習慣把around改成round，而最后一句，則改成about。
- around有一些固定的搭配，如around and about，around and above，all around等。而有時不可用around，如winter comes around，all the year around，win one around等；
