Part-time marketing and communications specialist

Our small B2B marketing and public relations firm is looking for a dynamic self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills to join our team on a part-time or contract basis. This is a remote position, so you can work from anywhere, but candidates based in the U.S. Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.  

What you’ll be doing:

  • Writing and proofreading short and long-form copy, including social media captions, press releases, blog articles, email newsletters, video scripts, case studies, sales decks and white papers 
  • Contributing to creative PR and marketing campaigns for B2B clients from the early planning stages to execution to promotion
  • Talking through project ideas and requirements with clients

Must have:

  • Background in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or similar
  • Ability to task switch and contribute to a variety of different projects at once
  • Strong research skills and the capacity to dive into complex technical topics or data-driven storytelling
  • Ability to write tight and adapt style to different brand personalities and tones of voice

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in content strategy, digital marketing, PR strategy or social media strategy
  • Experience with SEO copywriting and best practices
  • Prior work with B2B technology firms or within corporate travel

The job:

  • This role will require 20 to 30 hours of work per week 
  • Flexible work schedule (with attendance at some regularly scheduled client meetings required)
  • Pay range is $18 to $22 per hour, dependent on experience level / skill set
