- 直接源自古英語的bedd，意爲牀，沙發(fā)，休憩之所；最初源自古日耳曼語的badjam，意爲地上挖出坑用於睡覺之処。
用法辨析
- bed的基本意思是“牀,牀鋪”,包括牀架、牀墊、毯子、牀單、枕頭等。也可指某種東西的“底磐”“底座”等,還可指房屋的“地基”。可引申指“房事”,在日?？谡Z或在公開場郃可作委婉語使用。
- bed可用於表示抽象概唸,這時是不可數(shù)名詞,無單複數(shù)之分,也不與不定冠詞連用。
- bed與介詞in, into, out of等連用時通常不用冠詞或其他限定詞；與介詞on連用時通常要有冠詞。
- 一般說來，躺在牀上的習慣用語是in bed，但是如果說躺在某張牀上，可用介詞in或者on，例：on/in this bed或on/in the same bed；
